Certbot or Letsencrypt is backed by big companies like oracle, facebook, etc. so dont you woory as this is manage also by Linux Foundation.

First, you need an introduction on why you need to have this package if you dont have budget for SSL. SSL is very crucial to your site, traffics from non-ssl site can be inspected by anyone which treat your site vulnerability to malware and any other trash of world wide web.

But of course, if you do have a budget, please do, buy a premium ssl, anyways, its not that expensive. For regular ssl, you can have one for only $25 for 3 years, I think.

Anyways, lest go into our main agenda. Install certbot to our server and then add our site.

    – Add package to local.
    sudo apt-get install python-certbot-apache -t stretch-backports

    – Actually install certificate.
    sudo certbot --apache

    – Add more domain or subdomains.
    certbot --expand -d -d -d

    – Automatically renew certificate.
    sudo certbot renew --dry-run

Now, all things set you can now install all other packages that you will be using. See, Server Admin: Basic Manual for Performance and Security forum for more server administration.
